Abstract
In this seminar I will give a personal perspective on Ubiquitous Computing and on how it can drive the idea of Ubiquitous Cities. A presentation on the ways in which Ubiquitous Computing is meeting the current research on Intelligent Transport Systems will be presented and discussed.
A treatment on the contributions that Ubiquitous Computing can make for improved urban mobility in terms of usability, time efficiency, price efficiency and environmental sustainability will be addressed.
Demonstrations of current prototypes of Advanced Transportation Information Systems will be presented. Finally a list of promising research direction to make this vision happen will be enumerated.
