Introduction to JCRA 2003
FPGA-based reconfigurable systems have found an important
role in those systems requiring both high processing speed and low cost.
In many problems, custom computers and custom DSPs clearly overcome
the last generation of general-purpose microprocessors. Moreover,
embedded microprocessors in FPGAs allow versatile and easy to modify
designs to be created: two advantages that compensate their relatively
bigger cost. Finally, reconfigurable FPGAs enable the realization of
adaptive architectures, that can be used in so diverse fields as fault-tolerant
systems, communications control, adaptive filters, cryptography, etc.
The III Workshop on Reconfigurable Systems and Applications
continues the line of the previous editions (Almuñecar
2002 and Alicante 2001).
Its objective is to bring together all the Spanish and Ibero-American
groups working with FPGAs.
JCRA 2003 Participants will benefit a special offer of Celoxica
(See pdf).
JCRA 2003 will give three prizes in
the following categories:
Best Educational
Board
Best Paper
Best Tutorial
Microblaze Professor Workshop
In the two previous days to the JCRA, 8th-9th September, Xilinx
(California) will dictate at the UAM, a free
course for professors (XUP Professor Workshop) interested in FPGA
technology. The subject will be Microbaze processors, and the lectures
will be in spanish language. The inscription to this course will be
carried out directly with Xilinx. The registration URL is http://university.xilinx.com/univ/wksh_reg1.htm
Because the number of seats is limited, the organization will try
to give some preference to the JCRA assistants.
Madrid City Tour
The council of Madrid invites the the JCRA 2003 participants
to visit Madrid.
